Booster Club

The St. Patrick Booster Club has carefully administered athletic programs for children in elementary grades since it started in 1995. The growth in 11 years has been staggering. In the beginning, there were two sixth-grade basketball teams, one each for boys and girls. Today, there are nearly 64 teams in 10 sports including 28 in basketball, 18 in volleyball, four in soccer, three in tackle football, two in field hockey, and one each in swimming, golf, tennis, track, cross country, and cheerleading. Included in that total of 64 teams are six "Pee Wee" soccer teams (kindergarten through Grade Two), two "Pee Wee" flag football teams, a "Pee Wee" cheerleading squad, and four girls volleyball teams (First and Second Grade).

Ninety-five percent of all elementary-aged children in St. Patrick\'s school and religious education programs - that’s more than 700 kids - participate in at least one sport per year. An intramural high school basketball program held its first season last year. There were 24 ninth through 12th graders on two teams. This year, 36 players comprise three teams.

The St. Patrick Booster Club has deftly administered the remarkable growth in athletics for elementary age children over the years. Success has followed St. Patrick with five Toy Bowl championships in football. More than 100 adult parishioners serve as coaches for various athletic teams. “Team Parents” help coaches organize rosters, create schedules, make phone calls, etc. Adults also volunteer at fund-raisers such as Lenten Fish Frys, Harvest Brunches, and in the Celtic Center Concession Stand during league games.

Registrations for Fall Sports Can Now Be Completed Online

St. Patrick is now set up to receive online registrations for Flag Football, Tackle Football, Girls Volleyball, and Cheerleading for the 2007-2008 sports season at www.eteamz.com  This "site" is active right now and ready for sign-ups.

You will be able to register your son for flag or tackle football or your daughter for volleyball or cheerleading.
The online sign up will cost 6.5% + $1.00 per student. That works out to $5.88 for tackle football and $4.00 for the other three sports.

“As parishioners sign up their children for sports, eteamz will mail a check twice monthly to St. Patrick\'s Church,” said Darrin McCauley, basketball program director at St. Patrick. “Additionally, we will be able to access the database of those who have signed up into an Excel spreadsheet with all information required for administering the programs.”
