Sacraments

Sacraments are signs made sacred by Christ to show His presence in the world and to help us reach a closer union with God.

Baptism:

Infant Baptisms are usually celebrated the last weekend of the month. Parents need to be registered members of the parish and must complete our Baptism Preparation Program.

Stewardship Opportunity:

Baptism Preparation Team: Couples prepare parents for the celebration of their babies’ Baptism. There are two 90 minute sessions with parents and assistance at the celebration. Training available.

 

 

First Eucharist:

Children are usually prepared for First Eucharist in the Second Grade. Catechesis is a combined effort of parish and family preparation. Celebration held in the spring.

First Eucharist Preparation Team: Assists parish Director of Formation with programs and preparations for the celebration.

Confirmation:

Confirmation is the Sacrament that completes initiation into the Catholic Faith.
During this sacrament, the Archbishop anoints the candidates with oil and confers on them the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Incoming 8th graders and older are eligible to begin the process. The preparation and conferral of the Sacrament will last approximately 10 months. High school students or young adults seeking confirmation may have class separately from the 8th graders.

Confirmation is for members of St. Patrick Parish, regardless of the school they attend.

Reconciliation:

Saturdays at 4:00 pm or by appointment as requested.
First Reconciliation is usually celebrated prior to First Eucharist. Catechesis is a combined effort of parish and family preparation.

Marriage:

Couples wishing to celebrate their marriage at St. Patrick must be members of the parish or the children of parishioners. Archdiocesan policy requires a six-month preparation period for the Sacrament of Matrimony. Call the parish office to arrange an appointment with the pastor as early as possible to begin planning.

Marriage Preparation Team: Team positions are currently filled for the 2006/07 year.

 

 

Holy Orders:

Anointing of the Sick:

Celebrated with the seriously ill and aged as well as those in danger of death, to help achieve spiritual and physical healing. A person can be anointed more than once.

Communal celebrations held at mass twice yearly
