Computer Class Syllabus
Grades: 6-8
Grades 6-8 will cover skills outlined in the updated
Archdiocesan Computer Skills Continuum which is posted
on the Downloads page at St. Patrick’s website.
The classes will be designed to teach the students these
computer skills while supporting the curriculum that is being
taught in their classrooms. Collaboration with the classroom
teachers will guide the weekly lessons.
Students will receive a grade for computer skills,
conduct and effort.
The grading scale will be the same as the one used
in the core classes.
A rubric/scoring guide will be given to the students at the
beginning of each project. On it will be the directions for the
project and a guide for how the project will be graded.
Computer Skill Grade will be based on:
· Following directions
· Mastery of Computer skill
· Content of project
Conduct grade will be based on:
· Time on task
· Following established classroom management
system
Cooperation with group
Effort grade will be based on:
· How well student follows directions
· How much individual help student needs to finish
project
· How complete the final project is
Grades K-5
Grades K-5 will cover skills outlined in the updated

The classes will be designed to teach the students these
computer skills while supporting the curriculum that is being
taught in their classrooms. Collaboration with the classroom

Students will receive a grade for conduct and effort only. The
grades will be the same as the grading scale used in the different
grade levels.
Conduct grade will be based on:
Time on task
Following established classroom management system
Helping each other ("seeking wise people")
Effort grade will be based on:
· How well student follows directions
· How much individual help student needs to finish project
· How complete the final project is
· Mastery of computer skill for project
