Dear Friends in the Lord,

The Catholic Community of St. Patrick is driven by both its mission and its values. Five years ago we restated our mission, and in 2004 the Pastoral Council adopted a three year strategic plan called Come, Journey with Us. Most of the more than one hundred action steps we identified in that plan were completed by the end of 2007.

For the past year the Pastoral Council has been focused on developing a new plan for St Patrick parish. We began by consulting parish leaders, interviewing a random sample of parishioners, and finally we invited anyone who was interested to tell us what they value most about this community, and what things would heighten the vitality and health of the parish.  From that input the Council developed a new strategic plan for the coming three years. It is entitled, We Continue the Journey.

We Continue the Journey is organized around the five ministry clusters of the parish and includes more than 100 action steps as well as identifying accountability and deadlines. In recognition of the growing electronic savvy of our community, we are publishing the entire strategic plan in an attractive and easy to read on-line version. This publication provides only a summary of the Plan’s main goals and objectives.

This is not a plan to be set on a shelf and forgotten. The Pastoral Council, as the leadership body charged with visioning and planning for the parish community, will be monitoring the implementation of the plan regularly and coaxing those who are responsible to move the projects along. We intend to update the plan on line as action steps are completed.

I am grateful to the Pastoral Council and all the others who contributed to this plan. Let us now join together in prayer that the Holy Spirit will guide and assist us in the completion of our strategic plan.
